Thank you Paul! Seeing your comment and others like it inspires me to keep going.
I can tell you that I have a hard story to write which will be posted this Tuesday. But the one the following Tuesday after that will give you some insight as to what helped me turn the corner. But good luck and good timing do come to mind.
You were brave when you went on your adventure, very brave and hopeful but also smart. You knew deep down when it was time to clean up, and you sure did, lucky for all of us. Bless your friends who are gone.
“where some type of landing was more reasonably in sight!” Sure in sight but not make able, you were one tuff crazy bastard Mace. While I don’t know what’s next for young Mike, I know you became a great husband and Dad and friend to many, and knowing more about the start you had in life makes it all the more impressive and special to see the man you have become. I find myself so proud of Mike, proud of you !
John your words are so kind and so meaningful to me. Thank you.
Were all just trying to do the best we can and it makes it easier if you have friends and family in your life like you. I'm proud to know you John and call you a friend.
I have always remembered my mom speaking to me about you Mike, Mom telling me how she really liked you and how I’m going to really like meeting you and being an usher at Di n Jim’s wedding with you. My mom always told me the truth, good or bad, simple or difficult and she was certainly right about you Mike. I should have reached out to you thru the years as well as to others but I never seem to do that, some old friends get angry at me for that. Thanks for keeping me as a friend Mike.
Lisa said she remembers a ride me you and her took to get beer one time at a party up there. I remember that ride too the three of us took. She said you were hilarious and had us in stitches.
I’d like to see Niagra Falls again, we have a lil travel trailer and I look up some RV parks, we can meet up again then. I remember the Falls as a young boy, the spray hitting my face. My dad enjoyed visiting many NY areas and saved his money to take us on vacations. I hope one of your stories isn’t titled, Riding a barrel over Niagra Falls.
I loved your mom John! That’s so nice to hear that she felt that way about me. The feeling was mutual. She was a good woman. I liked your dad too.
I forgot about us being the ushers at the wedding! All this time I thought we were the bodyguards!😆
That picture of the group dressed up is from Jackson’s christening or baptism in Unadilla I think. I was on the camera.
Of course Di, Jim Nora and Jack. Lisa, your mom & dad and Lisa and Jim’s parents. You can tell everyone liked everyone and got along well. That’s not always a given.
That picture of the land with all the straw on the ground was before Jim and Diane built any structures on their land. Again Lorrie and Jane seemed to get along well.
Lisa on the right. We can’t tell who’s on the left? Is that Jannie?
Your dad pitching shoes and I am willing to bet a bag of potatoes that I was on the other end playing him and those were my shoes.
I was always looking to throw some horse shoes back then!
I’m so glad that you did turn your life around and are still with us ❤️
Thank you Patty! Grateful to be here and have friends like you in it...
Something must explain why your life ended differently from your friends. Whatever it is, these are really compelling stories!

Lucky for me to have family like you in my life Diane. And thank you for blessing my friends, they deserve that.

It was all of you, Lisa, Dick & Lorrie, Jim & Di, your family, that saved my life. I had a place that I was loved and accepted at.
That meant everything to me.
As far as not reaching out John I’m guilty too. But we ain’t dead yet 😆
